Hamburgers


Basic Burgers   makes 4 hamburger patties

PREP- 15 mins
COOK- 16 mins
READY IN- 35 mins
Ingredients
1 small onion
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
400g minced beef
¼- 1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs
Directions
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together egg, salt and pepper. Place ground beef and bread crumbs and chopped onion into the mixture. With hands or a fork, mix until well blended. Form into 4 patties approximately 3/4 inch thick.

  1. Place patties in a preheated frypan and cook 6 to 8 minutes per side, or to desired doneness.
2.5kg mince
1 lettuce
6 tomatoes
6 onions
Mayonnaise
Can sliced beetroot
3C 750g dry breadcrumbs

Basic Burgers
  • Choose Ingredients
  • Patties - Because you cannot have a burger without meat patties.
  • Lettuce - Because it adds crunch to the burger.
  • Cheese - It melts onto the patty and its makes the burger taste nice
  • Garlic - It has lots of flavour and it adds more taste into the burger.
  • Gherkin - Because it adds flavour.
  • Onion - Because it adds flavour .
  • BBQ sauce!!!! - Because it tastes nicer than tomato sauce and it has a lot more flavour.
  • Beetroot - It goes nice with the lettuce, tomato, cheese, gherkin and Garlic.

Instructions
  1. Personal Prep - Hair up, hair net, wash hands, apron on, bags away.
  2. Disinfect benches with paper towels.
  3. Get equipment

Starting Burgers
  1. Make sure your workplace is clean and safe before you begin.
  2. Get all the ingredients for making the patties.
  3. Get a bowl and whisk together the egg, salt and pepper. Place the Beef and Bread Crumbs and chopped onion into the mixture.
  4. With your hands and or a fork, mix until well blended.
  5. Form into 4 patties approximately ¾ inch thick.
  6. Put patties into a frying pan, someone else in your group can arrange all the other ingredients for preparation.
  7. Gather together your inserts, (Lettuce, cheese, tomato, Gherkin, garlic, onion and beetroot, also your desired sauce)
  8. Put the burger buns into the oven and lightly toast them. Keep an eye on them so they do not burn.
  9. Whilst waiting for the burger buns, cut up all the inserts into appropriate proportions.
  10. Make sure that you’re watching your buns in the oven toasting and the patties in the frying pan, so they don’t burn or get overcooked.
  11. Once the Buns are lightly toasted and the patties are cook to perfection, you can go ahead and design your bun.
  12. Make sure you include all of you inserts!!!
  13. Clean up all of you equipment
  14. Take a photo of your finished product!!

How was my burger successful?
How could I improve?
My burger was successful because it had a range of flavours that worked really well together.
I could improve by making my presentation a lot nicer and make my pattie less dry.
